Prometheon helps you easily find seminars, continuing education courses, conventions, trade shows and Web based training (WBT) programs that match your interests. There are two main methods for finding courses in Prometheon (described below): browsing and searching.
1) Browsing
You can browse seminars, continuing education courses, conventions, trade shows and Web based training programs by topic or city. This will return every course, convention & trade show listed in Prometheon for a selected category. Browsing is best used for general research and for finding matches you cannot find using the search engine first.
This is how to browse seminars, continuing education courses, conventions & trade shows by CITY:
Only public seminars and continuing education courses with scheduled dates will show up in the 'browse by city' section. Web based training programs and private seminars will not be listed in this section.
- US Metro Region / State / Province / Country: Choose the US Metro Region, state, province or country your city is located.
- City: Choose your city from the list of cities.
- Topic: Choose a topic from the list for your selected city.
- Results: You will see a list of all the public seminars & continuing education courses matching your topic in your selected city. Choose the seminar title and description that interests you.
This is how to browse courses, conventions & trade shows by TOPIC:
Each event is assigned only one major and minor topic for the "browse by topic" section, thus each event is very specifically categorized in its "core" subject. Note: searching using the topic field in the search engine will always return more event listings for a given topic because it searches the entire event description.
- Major Topic: Choose a major topic that interests you.
- Sub-Topic: Choose a sub-topic that interests you.
- Results: You will see a list of courses matching your topic. Choose the event title and description the interests you.
2) Database Searching
Simply enter your search criteria in the easy-to-use search form.
Every event that matches your criteria will be found. You can search using any combination of the following criteria: topic, city, US metro region, state/province, country, date from, date to, company, event type and/or course leader.
Database Searching Tips:
1) You can enter criteria in as many or as few of the search fields as you want. You do not need to fill in every field.
2) Entering more criteria narrows the search results. For example: searching for New York in the city field and leaving all other fields blank will give you every event listed in New York.
Searching for "New York" in the city field and "Management" in the course topic field will give you every "Management" event in New York, not every event in New York and every management course.
Another example, entering:
"Management" in the course topic field
"San Francisco" in the City field
... and Date From: "1/May/1999" *to* Date To: "25/May/1999"
will give you all Management events in San Francisco given between May 1, 1999 and May 25, 1999.
3) It is best to use the search engine before using the browsing methods since you will get more results with the database search.
